I didn't know Houston as long as everyone else had. But I am thankful that I did get to know him in the little time I knew him. He was a man of very kind nature. Warm and loving eyes. He had a gentle spirit and was at peace with himself. His sense of humor was refreshing and sometimes took you by surprise.I will always remember his smile the last time I saw him. He will truly be missed.

So many things go through my mind when I think of my Pawpaw. He taught me how to fish, which we did all the time when i was a young teenager, he got me my first gun and taught me how to shoot. He was always taking me to the pet store to get me another animal. So many good things to say about my Pawpaw, his since of humor, he always called girls movie stars and he was always on top of the world if you asked him how he was doing, He would say" if I was doing any better there would be two of me".
 A piece of me will be missing til we meet again. I Love you Pawpaw love always  Amanda

Gary and I were honored to know such a kind and compassionate man. We will always remember you and all the good times we had at LCC. RIP, our friend, we will see you again one day.

I was touched to have known Houston while working for the county. Houston was full of life and always had a smile on his face. I was blessed to have known Houston and he will not be forgotten. Houston went to Lenoir Community Church and my sister, Paralee knew him as well and had fond memories of Houston as well. RIP Houston! May God bless the Story family during this difficult time.

Houston was one of the sweetest men Ive ever met. I enjoyed his humor and seeing him in Paula's Diner on the weekends. The last time I saw him in there he ask, " if I was gonna give him a big ole kiss". I told I couldn't cause I had to give my kisses to Nick but maybe Shawn would give him one. His reply was "She's giving all hers to Kim" I couldn't help but laugh. Im gonna miss seeing him. My thoughts and prayers are with you Kim and your family. We love you!

Johnny and I feel honored to have known Houston. I  smile when I think of him. We enjoyed his humor and his character. Our prayers and thoughts are with the family.  We love you.

Paw Houston thank you so much for always loving and being there for Jeffrey and helping teach him a wonderful job skill. I have always been proud to include you as part of my extended family. You will always be in my thoughts and I will always cherish the memories. Until we meet again...all my love, Billie

We have wonderful memories of our time spent with Houston.  We need more people like him.   We left him feeling uplifted and a lot better about ourselves.  Move over angels!!   You have a real blessing coming your way!
