Howard Eugene Bowman

Mr. Bowman was born in Catawba County to the late O. C. Bowman and Elizabeth Fisher Bowman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Louise Miller Bowman; two sisters and one brother.

He was retired from Shuford Mills and a member Mt. Zion Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon and was a member of the choir.

Survivors include his sons, Wayne Bowman and wife Janice of Matthews, NC and Robert Bowman and wife Mary Bird of Austin, TX; daughters, Wanda Warnock and husband Glenn of Rural Hall, NC and Brenda Bowman of Granite Falls, NC; eight grandchildren, Scott Bowman, Kevin Bowman, Kim Annas, Laura Castro, Jonathan Bowman, Jeff Tolbert, Lisa Edgins and Mark Tolbert; and twelve great grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held Saturday, November 6, 2010 at 2:00 p.m. in Pendry’s Chapel with Reverend Ed Warren and Reverend Stuart White officiating. Burial will follow the service at Mt. Zion Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at Pendry’s Funeral Home one hour prior to the service.

Serving as pallbearers will be Scott Bowman, Kevin Bowman, Jonathan Bowman, Jeff Tolbert, Mark Tolbert, Matthew Bowman, Nicholas Bowman, and Nathan Nelson.

The family requests that memorials be made to the Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
