Jackie T Day

He was born February 12, 1936 in Caldwell County to the late Walter and Myrtle Day.

Celebration of Life services will be held 1pm Saturday, May 6, 2017 at First Baptist Church Whitnel Cemetery. The family will receive friends Friday, May 5, 2017 at the home of Scott day; 2774 Tumbleweed Drive, Lenoir, North Carolina during the hours of 6pm to 9pm.

Jackie was of Baptist faith and an avid Fisherman. He also enjoyed golfing and spending time with his children and grand-children.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Magdelene Lefever Day; sisters, Maddie Day Watson, Fannie Day Canipe, Brenda Day Younce; brothers, Macom Luther Day and an infant baby boy.

He is survived by his sons, Jackie Day (Susan) of Sawmill, Jerry Lee Day of Lenoir, Timothy Day (Elizabeth) of Lenoir, James Day (Ashley) of Rhodhiss. Michael Steven Day of Rhodhiss, daughter, Marilyn Day Cooper (Terry) of Mountain City, Tennessee; brother, Daniel Day of Hildebran; sister, Essie Day Watson of Georgetown, South Carolina. Jackie also leaves to cherish seven grand-children, twelve great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren. He is also survived by his lifelong companion, Roscoe.
