James Stephen Bryant

James Stephen Bryant passed away on Friday, December 2, 2016 at Caldwell Hospice following extended hospital stays. Born in Wilmington, NC on March 26, 1943, he lived all his 73 years in Caldwell County. He was proud of his 40 years’ work at Caldwell Freight Lines.

Steve was preceded in death by his wife, Susie, and his parents, Eugene and Mae Andrews Bryant.

Survivors include his sons, Kevin Bryant (Donna and Chad) and Ryan Blinson (Ashley and Colin); a brother, Tom Bryant (Annette); and sister, Emmagene Jenkins; nieces and nephews, Lynae, Tommy, Tiffany Bryant, and Jeffrey Jenkins.

A funeral service will be held at 12 noon on Monday, December 5, 2016, at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 11:00 am until the service.

Interment will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park where Steve will be buried beside his beloved Susie.

The tender care received at Grace Hospital, College Pines Health Care, and Caldwell Hospice was greatly appreciated by Steve and his family as he battled chronic pulmonary disease and congestive heart failure. He loved his family and was dearly loved.
