

Mr. Herald was born in Caldwell County to the late Isaac Vaughn Herald and Hettie Cloe Herald. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Jesse James Herald and James Thomas Herald and two sisters, Christine Williams and Lucille Herald.
He was of the Baptist faith and his favorite thing was going to car sales with Jim Coffey.
Survivors include his wife, Peggy Diane Williams Herald of Lenoir; a son, James Herald of Lenoir; daughters, Carla Kay Burner of Lenoir and Robin Faye Greene of Lenoir; two sisters, Pauline Simmons of Lenoir and Reba Swafford of Shelby. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday, May 2, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. in Pendry’s Chapel with Reverend Tony Harris officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be Tracey Hyler, William Cole, John Roberts, Johnny Wayne Johnson, Jim Coffey and Terry Cooke.
