

Born in Mitchell County, North Carolina, he was the son of the late W.C Haney and Rose Peterson Haney.
Jim was a hard working logger, a loving father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, and a super husband who never met a stranger. Those who were his friends always cherished his smile and his bigger than life stories.
Mr. Haney was preceded in death by his parents, a brother; Paul Haney, one sister; Alzenia Price 3 sisters-in-law; Ruby Haney,Louise Haney, Nelda Haney, 4 brothers-in-law; Harold Greene, Clarence Robbins, Kenneth Barger and Eddie Messer.
Those left to cherish his memory include his loving wife of 56 years, Geneva Haney of the home; three daughters, Frances Haney Johnson and husband Gene, Phyllis Haney Hudson, and Marcie Haney; five grandchildren, Marland Haney and wife Shelley, Blake Moody, James Triplett, Jr., Hillary Tate, and Landon Hudson; and four great-grandchildren, Allie Wright, Aliyah Wright, Lavaris Dula, and Noah Collins Moody. He also is survived by two brothers; Everett and Vaughn Haney and five sisters; Reba Greene, Zula Robbins, Rita Barger, Doris Morgan and husband Terry Morgan and one brother-in-law; Dallas Price.
The family of Mr. Haney will receive friends on Saturday, November 2nd, 2013 at Abundant Life Tabernacle from 1:00 pm – 2:00 pm with the funeral service following at the church sanctuary with the Rev. David McNeil and Rev. John Pritchard officiating. Interment will immediately follow the service at the church cemetery.
Serving as pallbearers will be Marland Haney, Blake Moody, James Triplett, Jr., Donald “Duck” Hudson, Kevin Horton, and Brent Kincaid. Landon Hudson, Hillary Tate, Gene Johnson, and Jim Triplett will be serving as honorary pallbearers.
