Jimmie Delmar Sawyer

Jimmie Delmar Sawyer, age 85 of Lenoir, passed away, on Sunday, June 19, 2022 after a period of declining health. Born Friday, January 22, 1937 to the late Arthur and Myrtle Plemmons Sawyer in Scott County, Virginia.

In addition to his parents, Mr. Sawyer is proceeded in death by his son Delmar Sawyer.

He is survived by his loving wife Betty Jo Sawyer of the home, two sons David Sawyer and wife Susan of Hildebran and Dennis Sawyer of Lenoir, with one daughter Dawn Sawyer also of Lenoir. Mr. Sawyer leaves behind four grandchildren; Chad Sawyer, Ashley Francum, Tyler Sawyer, Haley Sawyer and three great grandchildren; Aspen Duncan, Gunner Sawyer and Ivy Duncan. along with a number of nephews and nieces.

Mr. Sawyer served his country in the United States Army. Jimmie was an avid trout master and will be remembered for his love of the outdoors. He was a caring husband, father, and friend to everyone that knew him.

The Sawyer family will receive friends Saturday, June 25, 2022 from 1:00 pm - 2:00 pm at Pendry's Funeral Home.

The Funeral Service for Jimmie Sawyer will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2022 at 2:00 pm at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home

Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park, 2017 Wilkesboro Blvd, Lenoir, NC.

Military honors will be provided by the United States National Guard and the Caldwell County Veterans Honor Guard.
