Joann Murial Propst

Joann Murial Propst, age 93, of Lenoir, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, September 12, 2023. at Lenoir Healthcare. Mrs. Propst was born April 24, 1930 in Caldwell County to the late Dewey Annas and Nora Jane Benfield Annas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, JC Propst.

Joann was a loving and dedicated wife and mother. She was a lifetime member of Rhodhiss First Baptist

Church where she was forever involved with missions, led the youth program and served as director of vacation bible school. She also served on the Caldwell Baptist Association as Mission Development Coordinator. For many years, she traveled the world on multiple international mission trips coordinated by the International Mission Board and the North American Mission Board.

Those left to cherish her memory include her daughter, Pam Estes and husband Gary of Lenoir. a son, Reggie Propst and wife Fran of Lenoir and a sister, Gail Lazar of Greenville, SC. She is also survived by four grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

A funeral service will be held to honor Mrs. Propst on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Miller officiating. Burial at Sunset Hills Cemetery will be private.

The family will receive friends for one hour prior to the service, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home.
