Kenneth “Kenny” Eugene Franklin, age 61, of Granite Falls, North Carolina passed away on Saturday, January 28, 2023. He was born in Haywood Co., N.C. on January 20, 1962 to Dorothy Jean Crouch Spicer and the late Benjamin Kenneth Franklin.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Thomas Crouch, sisters Tammy Dula and Norma Jean Franklin.
He is survived by his daughter, Charity Franklin Miller (Husband Alan), grandson Grayson Eugene Miller, brother Jack Crouch (wife “Nit”), sister Linda Morrison and numerous nephews and nieces.
Kenneth was a devoted employee with Tyson Food Inc. of Wilkesboro, N.C. for seventeen years and possessed a strong work ethic rarely missing work. His primary love was his family for which he possessed the greatest of affection. Another love of his life was his favorite football team the Dallas Cowboys. Kenneth was a generous and selfless man to those who were in need or experiencing hardship in their lives.
A funeral service to celebrate Kenneth’s life will be held in the chapel of Pendry’s Funeral Home following visitation at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, February 4, 2023. Chaplain John Pooler of Tyson Food Inc. along with Rev. Tony Harris will officiate during the funeral service. Internment will occur immediately following the funeral service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir.
Serving as pallbearers will be Michael Crouch, Alan Miller, Antonio Davis, Jimmy Duncan, Jeremiah Tyson, Israel Gonzalez, Michael Talbert, and Denny Dula.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 4, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 2:45 p.m. at Pendry’s Funeral Home.
