Lois Helen Maynard

Lois Greene Maynard, 90, went home to be with the Lord, Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at The Shaire Center in Lenoir surrounded by her family. She was born to the late Henry and Buelah Greene in Boone, NC on May 6, 1925.

Lois was a beloved member of Clarks Chapel Baptist Church. Lois will be dearly missed by all who loved her.

Along with her parents Lois is preceded in death by her husband Sidney A. Maynard Jr., brother; Jim Greene of Liberty, NC, sisters; Alice G. Whitley of Knoxville, TN, Artie G. Goolsby of Reidsville, NC, and Leola G. Cornett of Boone, NC.

Those left to cherish her memory include her sons; B. Thomas Maynard of Gonzales, LA, Michael W. Maynard of Lenoir, NC, daughter; Brenda Maynard Kirkland (husband John) of Lenoir, NC, sister; Mary G. Hayes (husband Farthing) of Boone, NC, grandchildren John Thomas Maynard (wife Pam) of Burleson, TX, Terri M. Southard (husband David) of Reidsville, NC, four great grandchildren, and four great-great grandchildren.

Funeral services for Lois will be held Saturday, April 2, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Clarks Chapel Baptist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10-11 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Acting as pallbearers for the service will be Tom, Mike, Tommy, and John Maynard, Aaron and Daniel Southard.

The family would like to say a special thank you for the friendship and care Sonny and Helen Anderson has always given her. Also, thanks to the ladies at The Shaire Center and Hospice for their care and support. God shows his love for us in many ways.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to the Clarks Chapel Baptist Church House and Grounds Fund, 3212 Clarks Chapel Rd. Lenoir, NC 28645.
