Ms. Chester was born in Detroit, Michigan to Lillian Clement Jones of Lenoir and the late Marvin Chester.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her sons, Dennis and Deshon Chester of Lenoir; a sister, Ann Chester of Asheville; half-sister, Barbara Singletery of GA; half-brothers, Marvin Chester of Lenoir and Plez James of GA; nieces, Ashley and Anna Corpening of Lenoir and numerous other family members.
A memorial service for Ms. Chester will be held Wednesday, May 18, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. in Pendry’s Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Sam Craven, Reverend Robert Edmiston, and Reverend Billy Joe Lipford officiating.
