

Mrs. Franklin was born in Catawba County to the late Reverend Raymond Claude Huffman and Anna Lee Flowers Huffman. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, Johnny Rudisill Franklin; a daughter, Brenda Diane Franklin; a brother, R. C. Huffman and a granddaughter, Latosha Franklin.
She was a graduate of St. Stephens High School, was retired from Bernhardt Furniture and was a faithful member of Hartland Missionary Methodist Church of Morganton. She was a loving and giving mother, grandmother and Great grandmother and faithful Christian who loved her Savior. She loved to read her bible and work jigsaw puzzles. She went to church every time the doors were open for as long as she was able and she also watched church programs on TV.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, Raymond C. Franklin of Morganton, John Franklin of the home and Tom Franklin and wife Heather of Sawmills; her daughter, Tammie Franklin of the home and Debbie Franklin of Lenoir. Also left to cherish her memory are her thirteen grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren with one more on the way and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. in Pendry’s Chapel with the Reverend Danny Carr officiating. Burial will follow at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home Tuesday, June 3, 2014 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.
Serving as pallbearers will be J. D. Scott, R. J. Franklin, Justin Franklin, Jon Fleeman, Joey Mast and Jesse Bowman.
The family respectfully requests that memorials be made to Hartland Missionary Methodist Church in Morganton.
