Mrs. Walsh was born January 20, 1933 in Wilkes County to the late Walter (Dillon) McGee and Minnie Simmons McGee.
Margie was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of Rock Spring Baptist Church where she sang in the choir and was a member of the WMU. Margie loved to garden, can foods, and grow flowers. She worked for Fairfield Chair for many years,
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Benjamin F. Walsh Sr., and a grandson: Chad Walsh.
Those left to cherish her memory include her sons: Ken Walsh and wife Lib, Steve Walsh and wife Joanne, both of Ferguson, daughters, Patricia Smith and husband Mac of Lenoir and Lynette Hawkins and husband Clayton of Ferguson.
Also left to cherish her memory are nine grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren and 2 great-great grandchildren, also one more great-great grandchild on the way.
A funeral service to honor Mrs. Walsh will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2018 at 2:00 pm at Rock Spring Baptist Church with Rev. Roy Kanupp and Rev. Ron Burchett officiating. Burial will follow the service at the Walsh-Triplett Family Cemetery in Ferguson.
Serving as pallbearers will be Gary Triplett, Ted Triplett, Daniel Triplett, Jeremy Huggins, Wray Steele and Bruce Broyhill.
The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the residence of Mrs. Walsh beginning at 6:00 pm.
The family would like to thank Nicole Foster, Tonya Mayes, and Christy Miller for their support and help with caring for Mrs. Walsh, also a special thank you to Lib Walsh for going above and beyond to help care for her mother-in-law.
