Ned "Pete" Hill Sanders

Ned “Pete” Hill Sanders of Lenoir passed away Friday, January 2, 2015 at Caldwell UNC Healthcare.

Mr. Sanders was born to the late Aaron Riley Sanders and Ninnie Simmons Sanders. He worked as a supervisor in the furniture industry for almost 70 years and attended First Advent Christian Church. He was also an avid football, fast pitch softball, baseball player, and golfer. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Elsie Austin Sanders, 3 brothers, and 1 sister.

Those left to cherish his memory are his sons, D. Ned Sanders and wife Wilma of Lenoir, Richard Sanders and wife Lynne of Lenoir, Gary Sanders and wife Rhonda of Lenoir; daughters, Peggy Isaacs and husband Bill of Pickens, South Carolina, Vicki Wedding and husband Rob of Lenoir, 13 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren, and Polly Smith, companion and special friend for the last 10 years.

A funeral service will be held Sunday, January 4, 2015 at the Pendry’s Chapel at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Bobby Hodges officiating. Burial will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.

Serving as pallbearers will be Doug Sanders, Mike Issacs, Matthew Wedding, Jacob Sanders, Zack Gantt, Carson Isaacs, and Ben McRary.

The family requests that memorials be made to First Advent Christian Church Youth Group, 1102 Old North Road Northwest, Lenoir, NC 28645.
