Peggy Jean Wilson

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of over 60 years Robert “Bob” Edward Wilson, Sr., her step-grandson Matthew Mobley, her great-grandson Caleb Causby, her sisters Gwyn Frye and Sabra Melton, and her brothers Bill, Bass, John, Zeo, and Ned Riggs.

Left to cherish Peggy’s memory are her son Robert “Ed” Edward Wilson, Jr. (wife Jackie), her daughter Tamala Wilson, her grandchildren Ashley Beaty (partner Paul Farmer), Claudia Fuller (spouse Richelle), and Heather Wilson, her great-grandchildren Emilyn Spears, Dax Wilson, and step-great-granddaughter Dorthy Farmer, and her sister Mary Gay Hickman.

Miss Peggy loved her little dog, Buddy. She enjoyed flowers, birds, thrift shopping, and being with her family and friends. She was a fan of Carolina basketball. In high school, Peggy was a member of the Lenoir Famous Dreamettes. For 46 years she worked at Bernhardt Furniture. She loved spending time with her soulmate and daughter Tamala, her best friend and granddaughter Ashley, and her favorite caregiver and friend Melissa Fisher.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Calvary Advent Christian Church, 1330 Delwood Dr. SW, Lenoir, NC, officiated by Pastor Jim Lee. The family will receive friends from 12:45 PM until 1:45 PM prior to the service at Calvary Advent Christian Church.

Burial will follow the service at Blue Ridge Memorial Park in Lenoir.
