While his passing leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, his family finds peace in knowing that he has been reunited in heaven with his beloved wife of 53 years, Shirley Price Hollar. Those who knew them best can already hear their love language—bickering—commencing once again in eternity.
Born and raised in the Lenoir area, Ray was a man defined by his devotion to his family. He cherished his loved ones deeply, especially his grandson, Caleb. Ray was the person family and friends knew they could always turn to whenever they needed a helping hand, especially heating/air. When not working at BoldDesigns, he enjoyed flying, fishing, scuba diving, camping, and traveling.
Ray is survived by his daughter, Michelle (John); his sister, Janice (John); and his brother, Floyd (Judy), and grandson (Caleb). He leaves behind brothers-in-law, Dean (Kim) and Dwight (Nicole); his sister-in-law, Carolyn; and his faithful chihuahua mutt, Rascal. He is also survived by multiple cousins, nieces, and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley Price Hollar; his parents, George William Hollar and Mamie Taylor Hollar; his brother, Jerry (Janice); and his brother-in-law, Dallas.
Services will be announced in the coming weeks.
