Ruth Wilson Watson

Mrs. Watson was born in Alexander County to the late Lloyd John Wilson and Ethel Payne Wilson Eckard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Ray Pitts Watson and a brother, Lloyd Wilson. She was retired from Blue Bell and was an active member of Grandview Park Baptist Church for over 60 years.

Survivors include her sons, Richard Watson and wife Evelyn of Hudson, and Jim Watson and wife Barbara of Gamewell; a brother, Eldon Eckard and wife Linda of Bainbridge, GA; three grandchildren and six great grandchildren.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, June 03, 2010 at 11:00 a.m. at Blue Ridge Memorial Park with Reverend Raymond Spann and Reverend Steve Walsh officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday at 10:00 until 11:00 a.m. at Pendry’s Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tyler Watson, Chris Watson, Scott Hodge, Bob Harmon, Marvin Triplett and Russell Coffey.

The Watson family requests that memorials be made to Grandview Park Baptist Church, Building Fund, 2539 Grandview Circle NW, Lenoir, NC 28645.
