In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Roy "Bub" Barlowe, an infant daughter, Debbie, two brothers, Howard and Joe Moretz, and a daughter-in-law, Gloria Barlowe.
Shirley retired from Bernhardt Industries after 25 years of faithful service. she enjoyed gardening and spending time with her pets. She also loved the beach, mountains and spending time with her family.
Those left to cherish her memory include her two sons, David and Wade Barlowe, both of Lenoir, a grandson, Ryan Coffey, two great- granddaughters, Madison and Emily Coffey and a great-great grandson, Joseph McGhee and a sister, Wilma Rash, four brothers, Billy, Tom, Dale and Dan Moretz of Lenoir, a special niece, Emily Moretz and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family members.
In keeping with her wishes, no public services are being planned at this time.
