

Ray was born May 12, 1941 in South Carolina to the late Clyde Robbins and Nora Jenkins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Celia Ann Adams Robbins; brothers, Clyde Robbins Jr and Darell Robbins; and sisters, Louise Robbins Nelson, Reva Robbins Vines, and Peggy Robbins Coffey.
He leaves behind his beloved wife of 13 years, Mary Ann Church Robbins; beloved sons, Terry Robbins of Lenoir, Kenneth Robbins and wife Aimee of Lenoir; a beloved daughter, Cheryl Ann Hanson and husband Dale of Lenoir; brothers, Claude Robbins of Sheffield, Ohio, Harold Robbins and wife Joyce of Lenoir, Mitchel Robbins and wife Elizabeth of Ferguson, and Douglas Robbins and wife Tina of Lenoir; grandchildren, Adam Robbins and wife Heather of Franklin, NC, Hayden Robbins and wife Samantha of Lenoir, and Mason and Anna Brinegar of Lenoir; great-grandchildren, Clayton and Chloe Robbins of Franklin, and Hunter and Allison Robbins of Lenoir; step-children, Darrell Church and wife Ellen of Hudson, John Church of Spruce Pine, and Jason Church and Vanda Hatley of Lenoir; and step-grandchildren, Jacob and Reanna Church of Hickory and Jonah Church of Hudson.
Mr. Robbins was a much loved and respected Captain of the Lenoir City Fire Department. He retired after more than 27 years of service. He also served as a volunteer at the Patterson Fire Department for over 20 years, where he also served as Chief for three years. Mr. Robbins loved to serve others, he was a deacon at Yadkin Baptist Church, a member of the Handyman Mission, served as messenger from the church. He was a servant of God and people.
A funeral service will be held at First Baptist Church of Lenoir at 2:00 pm on Tuesday, August 17, 2021 with the Rev. Josh Hughes and the Rev. Robert Livingston officiating. The family will receive friends from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm prior to the service at the church. The Lenoir Fire Department and Patterson Fire Department will transport this precious man to the church and the graveside. They will also serve as pallbearers. Burial will follow in the Yadkin Baptist Church Cemetery in Patterson.
