Virginia Lucille Craig

Mrs. Craig was born February 10th, 1929 in Caldwell County to the late Horrace McGarr and Lillian Greene McGarr. She was retired from the Cabinet Room of Thomasville Furniture where she worked for over 20 years. Mrs. Craig was a member of the Cajah’s Mountain Baptist Church for 55 years. She loved Atlanta Braves baseball and watched every game she could but her grandchildren were the light of her life.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Craig was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Clyde “Pete” Craig; a son, Stephen Craig; six sisters and a brother.

Those left to cherish the memory of Virginia Craig include two daughters, Teresa Holden (Jack) of Granite Falls and Debbie Hudson (Roger) of Lenoir; four grandchildren, Jackie Barrier (Mike) of Granite Falls, Rana Adkins (Jason) of Lenoir, Jamie Holden of Lenoir, and Chad Hudson (Victoria) of Morganton; and three great-grandchildren, Hunter Adkins, Stephen “Jake” Holden, and Elizabeth Hudson.

Funeral Services for Mrs. Craig will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, April 27th, 2014 at Cajah’s Mountain Baptist Church with the Rev. Doug Woodie officiating with interment to follow in the church cemetery. The family of Mrs. Craig will receive visitors one hour prior to the service from 2:00 – 3:00 PM at Cajah’s Mountain Baptist Church.

The family requests that memorials be made to Caldwell Hospice and Palliative Care, 902 Kirkwood Street, Lenoir, NC 28645.
