William Ben Hass

Mr. Hass was born in Caldwell County to the late Rufus Lee Hass and Bertha Bollinger Hass. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Marshall Hass and two sisters, Mildred Hatley and Ruby Yount.

He was a self-employed plumber and a member of Clear View Baptist Church.

Survivors include the mother of his children, Brenda Standridge Hass; his daughter, Sherri Hass Horton of Hudson; a granddaughter, Sidney “Doodle” Combs; sisters, Louis Quinn of Lenoir, Shirley Hass of Lenoir, Catherine Kale of Huntsville, AR, Gladis Hass of Pleasant Hill, SC and Anne Bumgarner of Granite Falls; brothers, Marvin, Truitt and Thad Hass all of Hudson; a brother-in-law, Bob Yount of Hudson.

A funeral service will be held Thursday, December 20, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. in Pendry’s Chapel with Reverend Carol Maltba officiating and speakers, Larry Parsons, Tim Hice, Wayne Hass and Tyler Bumgarner. Burial will follow at Clear View Baptist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 until 2:00 p.m. at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home.

Serving as pallbearers will be Tim Hice, Kevin Hice, Anthony Hass, Terry Hass, Rick Cannon and Steve Eldridge.
