William Monroe Laws

Mr. William Monroe Laws, 84, of Marion went home to be with the Lord on July 2, 2021 at Lake James Lodge in Marion. Mr. Laws was born on May 29, 1937 in Burke County to the late Jesse Alfred Laws and Dosey Ann Phelps Laws.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, three sisters and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.

Mr. Laws was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church in Lenoir. He enjoyed spending time with his cousin, Mary Earp, who was a first cousin; he also liked to play the harmonica, loved singing gospel music and he had a great love for his family.

Those left to cherish his memory include numerous nieces, nephews and family friends.

A funeral service to honor his memory will be held on Wednesday, July 7, 2021 at 10:00 am at Pisgah Baptist Church in Lenoir with Pastor Ronnie Miller and Pastor David Allen Day officiating. Burial will follow the service in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends for 2 hours, from 5:30 pm until 7:30 pm on Tuesday, July 6, 2021 at Pisgah Baptist Church.
