Mr. Mason was born in Swain County, NC to the late Zollie Mason and Cora Pace Mason. He was retired from Southern Devices and a member of Franklin Grove Baptist Church. His CB handle was “Smokey Mountain Man”.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers Jackson and Pearlie, and sisters Bessie, Dessie, Martha, Margaret, Lena and Dorothy.
Survivors include his daughter Pamela Freeman and husband Justin of Hudson; his son Jerry Lee Mason of Bryson City, NC; a brother Wade Mason of Bryson City, NC; three grandsons Joshua Mason, Tyler and Austin Freeman.
The family will receive friends Sunday, December 19, 2010 from 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm at Pendry’s Funeral Home.
