William Jimmie Whisenant

William Jimmie Whisenant, 77, of Lenoir went home to be with the Lord on June 17 after battling a long illness. He was surrounded by his family and friends. William loved to go fishing and spend time with his family and friends; but most of all he loved worshipping the Lord.

Along with his parents, William is preceded in death by his daughter, Patricia, brothers; Jack and Horace, sisters; Faye, Doris, and Hazel.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife, Bertha, sons; William, Joseph, and Christopher, daughters; Jennifer and Cynthia, brother; Bobby, sisters; Shirley and Lois, 11 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

Funeral services for William will be held on Monday, June 20, 2016 at Faith Baptist Church at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. at the church. Pastors Jerry Lingerfelt, Derick Lingerfelt, and Tim Small will be officiating the services. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Memorial Gardens.

Acting as pallbearers for the service will be Caleb Whisenant, CJ Whisenant, William Byrd, Matthew Moody, Kenny Whisnant, Tony Crawford, Jimmy Whisenant, and Johnny Whisenant.

In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to Faith Baptist Church, 1655 Bradford Mtn. Rd. Lenoir, NC 28645.
