Wilma Lyon Hoffman

Mrs. Hoffman was born in Traphill, NC to the late William McKinley Lyon and Novie Combs Lyon. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Hollis B. (Buddy) Hoffman; a sister, Emma L. Billings, and brother, John G. Lyon.

She was a homemaker and a member of the First United Methodist Church of Lenoir. She enjoyed doing church activities, yard work, and flower gardening, reading and cooking for her family. As her children were growing up, she participated in all of their activities – sports, scouts, youth activities at church and volunteering at school.

She is survived by her son, Tim Hoffman and wife, Michelle of Brunswick, ME; her daughter, Anita Watson and husband, Barry of Asheville, NC; sister, Bonnie L. Brooks of Thurmond, NC.

A graveside service will be held at Blue Ridge Memorial Park Saturday, March 16, 2013 at 3:00 p.m. with Reverend Marietta Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at Pendry’s Lenoir Funeral Home prior to the service from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m.
