In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandmother Katherine Beard Parsons, his grandfather Andrew Jackson Parsons, his brother Joe Moretz, Jr., his sister Dana Pearson, his brother Timothy Hice, and his beloved pet Sam.
Left to cherish Carl's memory are his wife Ruby Hice, his son Michael Carl Hice, his son Tyler Lee Hice, his daughter Danielle Burton, his son Curtis Burton, numerous brothers and sisters, his six grandchildren, and many friends and extended family.
Carl worked at Bernhardt Plant 3. He will be remembered for his infectious laugh and his big smile. Carl's genuine spirit and positivity touched countless lives and he will be missed dearly.
A Celebration of Life will be held 2:30 PM Saturday, March 8, 2025, at Pendry's Lenoir Funeral Home. The family will receive friends prior to the service, from 1:00 PM until 2:30 PM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Heart Association.
