

Cletus Marvin Kreider Keefer, Jr. died May 28, 2012 at his home in Levelland. He was born January 17, 1927 in Lancaster, Pennsylvania to Marvin and Clara (Hess) Keefer. He moved to Roundup in April 1934. He married Wilda Joy Lackey in Littlefield on September 7, 1947. He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, Miles Keefer; his sister, Ethel “Pat” Terry; and his nephew, Marvin Terry.
Marvin attended Anton schools until he joined the Marine Corps in 1945. He served in the Marine Corps until 1954. He fought in the Korean War and was wounded in action on 6 June 1951. He was a disabled veteran. He received his diploma from Anton High School in 2002 alongside fellow veteran and lifelong friend Raymond Scott.
Marvin attended First Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon and an elder. He was a Gideon. Marvin had been a farmer and a business owner. He retired from South Plains College in 1991.
Marvin is survived by his wife Joy; two daughters, Cletus Sickler of Robert Lee and Jo Ann Lynch (and husband, Steve) of Boerne; a son, Bert Keefer (and wife, Sheila) of Littlefield; five grandchildren, John Sickler, Alex Lynch, Megan Lynch, Amber East (and husband, Daniel), and Emily Hill; five great-grandchildren, Tyler Sickler, Tanner Sickler, Samuel Hill, Katharina Hill, and Henry East; and sister-in-law, Louise Keefer, along with several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at George Price Funeral Home in Levelland. Services are scheduled for 10 am on Thursday, May 31 at First Presbyterian Church of Levelland followed by interment at Anton Cemetery. Fu-neral Services are under the direction of George Price Funeral Home in Levelland, Texas.
