Donald "Don" A. Raymond

Donald (Don) Arthur Raymond went to be with the Lord on December 22, 2017. Don was born in Virginia, Minnesota on January 19, 1920. He was proceeded in death by his wife of 63 years, Frances Raymond and by his daughter, Patsey Raymond Owens.

Don graduated in 1942 from McMurry College in Abilene, Texas. He joined the Navy in 1942 and served in WWII on submarines. During his service in the Navy he received the Bronze Star. While in the service Don married the love of his life, Frances Lawlis, on April 17, 1944. His daughter Patsey was born October 4, 1945. After his service in the Navy, Don and his family moved to Levelland, Texas in 1948. There his son Mike was born on his father's birthday in 1950.

Don worked for Amoco Production for over 35 years. He and his family were life time members of First United Methodist Church in Levelland.

Don is survived by his son Mike Raymond and his wife, Barbara, son- in-law, Mickey Owens; Grandchildren Karl Owens and wife Lori, Matt Owens and wife Cristina, SuAnn Raymond and Brad Raymond; and four great-grandchildren.

Services will be Saturday, January 6, 2018, at 2:00 PM at George Price Funeral Home Chapel in Levelland, Texas, with Pastor John Sanders of First United Methodist Church officiating. Interment with military honors will follow in the City of Levelland Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
