

Elmeda Sue Hudson of Waco, Texas began her eternal life on December 29, 2015. Funeral services will be 10:00 am, Saturday, January 2, 2016, at Sundown First Baptist Church with Reverend Gil Rameriz of Park Drive Baptist Church Levelland, Texas officiating. Burial will be in the City of Sundown Cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland, Texas.
Mrs. Hudson was born August 18, 1027 in Parsons, Tennessee to Cecil Dewey and Velma Lee (Burton) DeLong. Elmeda was raised in the hills of Tennessee just a few miles from the Tennessee River and graduated from the 8th grade at Bunches Chapel Baptist Church. At the age of 15 she began working at the shirt factory in Parsons, Tennessee to help the family after her dad was killed in a car accident January of 1943. Mama met the love of her life at a dance and they were married March 25, 1949 in Corinth, Mississippi. Daddy and Mama moved to Denver City, Texas out in the open spaces of farming country. Mama worked at Ross's Sunshine Grocery in Sundown for 13 years and the Sundown ISD 21 years in Food Service. A lifelong dream of hers was to obtain her high school diploma. She attended night classes and correspondence courses to fulfill her dream in May of 1994. Elmeda was preceded in death by her husband, A.P., her parents Cecil and Velma DeLong, and a grandson Paul Comer.
Survivors to cherish her memories include four daughters, Lorienda Comer of Sundown, TX, Linda Farda and husband Thomas of Lorena, TX, Brenda Hudson of Austin, TX and Debbie Hudson of Burkburnett, TX; five grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; brother, Vernon DeLong of Centerville, TN; and sister, Wanda Bates of Parsons, TN.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to Blue Bonnet Hospice, and Ridgecrest Nursing Facility RN's, CMA's and CNA's for their love and support to our Mama and her family.
