Ezra Thompson (Tommy) Dunn Jr. was escorted by angels to his heavenly promotion Friday, October 10, 1014, at the age of 85. He was born January 6, 1922, in Parnell, Texas to Ezra and Mabel Dunn, Sr. Family graveside and memorial services were held Tuesday, October, 14, 2014. Graveside services were conducted by friend, Jessie Hodges and the memorial service was conducted by Mike Holster, pastor of Second Baptist Church. Ruby Moultrie and Deanne Clark provided the music selections.
He met Maxine Bozeman in Waco, Texas while stationed there in the USAF as a Staff Sargent. They were married September 23, 1955. She preceded him in death February 19, 2004. They had two children, Valerie and David. He worked for Southwestern Public Service and later was an instructor at South Plains College for 20 years. He was a member of Second Baptist Church, the Lion’s Club, and Masonic Lodge.
Tommy is survived by his children, Valerie Addington (Jacky) of Lubbock, and David Dunn of Levelland; close friend, Deanne Clark of Lubbock; and his fur baby, Shalimar.
We would like to thank all those that have been there for Dad, especially the last ten years. I don’t know what he would have done without the Senior Citizens Center, Tom Gonzales, Mary Siders and the Chamber of Commerce, Prini Loa and the coffee bunch, and Deanne Clark. I know there are many more and your friendship and compassion meant a lot to Dad.
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory to the Hockley County Senior Citizens Center, Second Baptist Church, Levelland Chamber of Commerce, or a charity of your choice would be so meaningful to him.
