Guy Elwyn Ballew

Funeral Services are under the direction of George Price Funeral Home in Levelland, Texas and will be held at 2:00 pm on Thursday, May 3, 2012 at First Baptist Church in Levelland, Texas with Archie Echols officiating. Interment will follow at the City of Levelland Cemetery in Levelland, Texas. There will be a Family Visitation on Wednesday, May 2, 2012 from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at George Price Funeral Home in Levelland, Texas.

Guy was born on March 2, 1937 in Emhouse, Texas, the son of Guy Earl and Frances (Marriott) Ballew. He was a member of the United States Army Reserves and served during the Berlin Crises. Guy enjoyed a good round of golf, a few hands of Gin Rummy, and Casting a line to see what was biting, and starting his day with coffee and friends at the Levelland Country Club. Guy was an Original Member of the group, The Sparkles, from 1958 to1959. But his alltime favorite thing to do was to be with his loving family.

He is survived by; his wife, Genie of the home,one daughter; Vicki Winegeart and her husband, John of Lubbock, Texas, one son; Jesse Ballew of Lubbock, Texas, one granddaughter; Jamie Leigh Winegeart of Lubbock, Texas. two sisters; Brenda Ballew and Sue Hagle, both of Grand Prairie, Texas, one brother; Roger Ballew of Grand Prairie, Texas, two sisters-in-law; Mary Hodges and Sue Wade, both of Levelland, Texas, and a host of nieces and nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews. Guy was preceded in death by his parents, Guy Earl and Frances Ballew, and one brother; Jesse Ballew.
