Harold "Sarge" "Sarge" McGinnis

Military Graveside services for Harold D.(Sarge) McGinnis, 74, of Sundown, Texas will be 2:30 pm, Wednesday, November 2, 2011 in the Sundown Cemetery, Sundown, Texas with Reverend Rudolfo Crasta, pastor, St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Levelland, Texas, officiating. Burial is under direction of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland, Texas. He died Sunday, October 30, 2011 in Levelland, Texas.

Harold was born on August 19, 1937 in Thornhill, Tennessee to Madison Qualls and Lucille McGinnis. He enlisted in the U. S. Marine Corps in 1955 and retired in 1975 as a Master Sergeant. He then went to work for Mobil Oil Company in 1975 and retired in 1996 after 21 years. He married Mary Dominguez on June 12, 1962 in Jacksonville, North Carolina.

Survivors include his wife: Mary McGinnis of Sundown, Texas; a son: Jerry McGinnis and his wife, Rhea of Sterling City, Texas; a daughter: Ginny Phillips and her husband, Kevin of Sundown, Texas: his sister: Sandra Lee and her husband, George of Knoxville, Tennessee; his brother: Earl McGinnis and his wife, Mary Ruth, of Corryton, Tennessee; and his granddaughter: Isabella Rhea McGinnis.
