

Funeral services for James Edward Fine, 79, of Levelland, Texas will be 10:00 am, Thursday, August 25, 2011 in George Price Funeral Chapel, Levelland, Texas. Burial will be in City of Levelland Cemetery under direction of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland. He passed away on August 22 and was 79 years old. James was born on April 28, 1932, at Watson, TX. His parents were George Wesley and Maggie Pearl Fine.
James grew up on the farm and he attended school at Three Way, playing football, basketball, and baseball. James graduated high school in 1950 and started farming with his father.
In April of 1953 he was drafted into the US Army. James married PamTunnell on September 5, 1953, at the home of her parents, Roy and Mildred Tunnell. He was honorably discharged from the Army in April of 1955 as a Corporal.
They farmed in the Maple area until 1962, when they moved to Levelland and continued farming until James retired from farming after his 1995 crop. The Fines enjoyed retirement until Pam became ill in 2001. Pam passed away in 2004. They were married for 50 years. James enjoyed fishing, especially at Lake Buchanan with friends and family, hunting and trying to read every western novel in the Levelland Library after he retired.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Pamela, and one daughter, Pamela Lynn Fine. He is survived by three children and their families; Judy Harris of Lubbock, Mike and Kim Fine of Mobile, AL and Tami and Jeff Watts of Lubbock. James also has 10 grandchildren Mandi, Christopher, Ryan, Justin, Kris-tin, Joy, Jacob, Josiah, Jeremiah and Jorryn.
