JoAnn Ward

Memorial services for JoAnn Ward, 78, of Levelland will be at 11:00 am, Wednesday, November 27, 2013 at First Baptist Church with Dr. Sammy Elliott and Elgin Conner, officiating. Services are under direction of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland, Texas. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 26, 2013 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 PM. She died November 24, 2013 in Lubbock.

JoAnn was born on October 5, 1935 in Ropesville, Texas to James H. and Beatrice Estelle (Awbrey) Latham. She graduated from Levelland High School. Joann was a homemaker and member of 13th and Avenue K Church of Christ. She was a loving mother and grandmother and enjoyed traveling. JoAnn was responsible for numerous selfless acts of kindness. She was preceded in death by her parents, and two brothers: Jimmy Latham and Danny Latham.

Survivors include her husband: Lon Ward of Levelland: a son: Cliff Ward and his wife, Robin of Mineral Wells, Texas; a daughter: Jolonna Martin and her husband, Brian of Levelland, two brothers: Tommy Latham and his wife, Pam of Fort Worth, Texas; Ted Latham and his wife, Linda of Levelland; a sister; Bobbie Murray and her husband, Bill of Snyder , and a sister in law: Velma Latham of Levelland, five grandchildren: Bobby Martin and his wife, Whitney of New Braunfels, Spc.Brent Martin of Schofield Barracks, Hawaii, Brock Martin of Levelland, Will Ward and his wife, Stormy and Sara Ward, all of Lubbock and a great grandson, Bryson Ward.

The family suggests memorials to the American Cancer Society, St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to the Paralyzed Veterans.
