

John Alvin Doshier passed away March 15, in Levelland. He was born in Whitharral, Texas on November 20, 1929 to Thomas and Elsie Doshier. Alvin married Phyllis LaVohn Smith on October 25, 1957 in Lubbock, Texas.
After graduating from Whitharral High School he joined the Army and was stationed in Fort Lewis, Washington for 2 years. When he returned, he worked with his father as a mechanic and was later employed by Whitharral Independent School District and retired after working as a mechanic for over 26 years.
Alvin enjoyed working in his yard, fixing and making things. He also enjoyed camping and fishing in the mountains of Colorado with family and friends, and spending time outside.
He is survived by his daughter Jodie Fortner and son-in-law Jerry Fortner of Levelland; granddaughter Julie Fortner of Lubbock; and brother Leroy Doshier and sister-in-law Jeanice Doshier of Whitharral, and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Phyllis Doshier of Whitharral; brother Don Doshier of Lubbock; sisters Frances Kilpatrick of Artesia, New Mexico; Velma Ruth Parker of San Angelo; and Janell Wells of Lubbock; and grandson Jerod Fortner of Levelland.
