Peggy J. Valentine

Funeral Services for Peggy Joyce Valentine, 78, of Paducah and formerly of Levelland, will beat 2:00p.m. Friday January 17, 2014 at the Fifth Street Baptist Church with Brother Roy Prather and Ronnie Valentine officiating. Burial will be in the city of Sundown Cemetery. Peggy died January 14, 2014 in Childress Texas.

Peggy was born on July 22, 1935 in Temple, OK to Hugh R. and Ola (Monroe) Rumbaugh. She married Ronald Valentine on December 16, 2002. Peggy accepted Christ at an early age and was a Baptist by faith. She has been a long time member of Missionary Baptist Church. Peggy was a great cook who loved to cook for her family and friends. She was well known for her Turkey and dressing and chicken and dumplings. Peggy’s dumplings were hand rolled and had to be turned just right. Her favorite past time was spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She would play in the floor with them or even participate in water fights inside or outside the house.

Peggy was preceded in death by her parents and siblings, Raymond Rumbaugh, Arlene Howard, Betty Perryman, Bill Rumbaugh, Donnie Rumbaugh, and J.C. Rumbaugh.

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Ronnie Valentine; sons, Jerry D. Boggs, Gary L. Boggs and Dennis Boggs; brothers, Bobby Rumbaugh of Oklahoma, Kenneth Rumbaugh and Jesse Rumbaugh, all of Levelland; and sister, Francis Taylor of Levelland.
