Susan Marie Kitchens

Memorial services for Susan Kitchens, 64, of Lubbock and formerly of Smyer, Texas will be at 1:00 pm, Wednesday, September 25, 2013 at George Price Funeral Chapel, Levelland, Texas. Cremation services are under direction of George Price Funeral Home, Levelland, Texas. She died Sunday, September 22, 2013 in Lubbock.

Susan was born on September 5, 1949 in Lubbock, Texas to E. C. and Ruth (Helser) St. Clair. She was attended school in Smyer and graduated from Smyer High School in 1967. She attended South Plains College and then went on to receive her Bachelor’s degree from West Texas State University in Canyon, Texas. Her first teaching job was with the Olton Schools where she taught for one year . She then went to work for the Levelland School District where she taught at Cactus Elementary for 23 years and then at Levelland Middle School for 8 years. She was a member of Texas State Teachers Association. She married Darrell Kitchens on May 1, 1970 in Smyer.

Survivors include her husband, Darrell Kitchens of Lubbock, Texas; a son Jared Kitchens and his wife Jenny of Lubbock, Texas; a daughter: Angela Clarkson and her husband, Michael of Abernathy, Texas; her father: E. C. St. Clair of Smyer, Texas; three brothers: Don St. Clair and his wife, Carolyn of Allen, Texas; James St. Clair and Mike St. Clair and his wife, Frances , all of Smyer, Texas; a sister: Linda Russell of Lubbock, Texas and four grandchildren: Nikolas, Easton, Avery, and Jude.
