

Albert J. Marra, Jr. of Levittown died on Thursday, December 19, 2013 at his home. He was 88. Born in Philadelphia, Mr. Marra has been a resident of Levittown for 55 years and was a member of Queen of the Universe parish. He was an U.S. Army veteran of World War II where he was awarded a Purple Heart. Mr. Marra was employed with Morris Wheeler and Company Inc. in Philadelphia for many years until retiring. He enjoyed ceramics and wood working. Mr. Marra was the beloved husband of Anna G. (Ruk) Marra for 66 years. He was the loving father of Carol A. Marra of Levittown and Barbara Mignogna (Michael) of Downingtown and was the devoted grandfather of Angela and Michelle Mignogna. He was preceded in death by his sisters Mildred Weidenberg and Edna Glazier and is survived by many nieces and nephews. Mr. Marra's family would like to give special thanks to the staff and nurses at Chandler Hall Hospice for the compassionate care they gave to Albert. Family and friends are invited to call on Monday from 8 until 9 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown. His funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday at 9:30 a.m. at Queen of the Universe Church followed by Rite of Committal at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
