

Andrew A. Gargus Andrew A. Gargus went home to the Lord on Saturday, July 26, 2014 at Saint Mary Medical Center in Langhorne at the age of 86. Andy was an original Levittown homeowner and also a member of Saint Michael the Archangel Parish. He was very active in helping the poor with the Saint Vincent de Paul Society and was a member of the Knights of Columbus, Saint Joseph the Worker Council 4215. A World War II Veteran, he served his country honorably in the US Navy aboard the carrier, USS Mindoro. As such, he will be given full military honors and has been granted two plots at a National Veterans Cemetery. Andy had held various positions over his 30 years of service with US Steel Fairless Works. He was an avid golfer and member of the Fairless Hills Seniors Golf League for many years. Andy and his wife enjoyed traveling, gardening and music. Beloved husband of 64 years to Irene (Kash), Mr. Gargus was the loving father of Andrew Gregory (Karen), Dennis J. (Barbara), Sandra M. Gargus Batt (Robert R. Jr.) and Candace I. Gargus. He was also the devoted grandfather of 9; proud great grandfather of 6; and brother of John Gargus (Margaret) and George Gargus (Pat). Family and friends are invited to call (Viewing) on Friday from 9 until 10am at Saint Michael the Archangel Church, 66 Levittown Parkway, Levittown, where his funeral mass will be celebrated at 10 am. The Rite of Committal will be held in Washington Crossing National Cemetery on Monday at 9:30 am precisely. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in his name may be made to Society of Saint Vincent de Paul, 3004 Keenwood Road, East Norriton, PA 19403; or Saint Michael the Archangel Church (as noted above); or to Saint Mary Medical Center Foundation, Langhorne-Newtown Road, Langhorne, PA 19047.
