Barbara Elise Zurlo

Born in Trenton, NJ to Carl O. and Elizabeth Dettmar, she was a life-long area resident, living in Yardley and Newtown. She was a graduate of Villa Victoria High School. She was employed as an Insurance Underwriter with multiple firms from Philadelphia to Lawrenceville, NJ.

Barbara was an avid skier and skied well into her 80s. She was a member of Bucks Mount Ski Club. She enjoyed shopping. Barbara found peace sunbathing at the beach, hiking and camping. Her greatest joy in her life was spending time with her grandchildren and her great grandchildren.

Predeceased by her parents; her brother, Reed B. Dettmar; and her granddaughter Jennifer Waltz; Barbara is survived by her loving daughter, Lisa Zurlo-Waltz (Jim), her loving son, Christopher Zurlo (Suzanne); her adoring grandchildren, Kristina Zurlo, Kelsey Waltz, Jimmy Waltz (Stefanie), and Ryan Waltz; and her great grandchildren, Liliana, Lauren, Ethan, Brandon, Maddie, and Dylan.

A memorial gathering for family and friends will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, from 10:00 AM until 12 Noon, followed by a funeral service, at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA.
