Barry retired after 40 years working for the Railroad, where his commitment and hard work were evident. He served in the Army for two years, a testament to his ethos of showing up and doing what was necessary, always ready to meet the call of duty.
Barry's love for the outdoors was unparalleled. An avid fisherman, hunter, and hiker, he often ventured into nature with his family, exploring the trails along canals and rivers. His garden was a place of refuge, where he cultivated not only vegetables but also beautiful flowers, embodying his passion for the natural world.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Lillian, who was his partner in hiking and life for six decades, his sons Barry Jr. and John, and his grandson Michael. Barry was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lillian Jones, his granddaughter Amanda, as well as his five brothers and five sisters.
A visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Rd, Levittown, PA. Interment with full military honors will follow on Thursday, January 22, 2026, at 10:00 AM at Washington Crossing National Cemetery.
Barry's life and service will be honored as we remember a man deeply rooted in his family and his love for the great outdoors.
