Born in Lansdowne, PA, Bruce graduated from the former Lansdowne-Aldan High School in 1975. He was drafted into the U.S Navy after graduation where he honorably served until 1978 and was discharged. After discharge, he worked various retail jobs in the Philadelphia, Delaware County areas until he moved to Bucks County in 2001 where he proceeded to work until his retirement. Bruce was an avid Philadelphia sports fan where he could spend hours talking to you about teams, players, records, scores, and more. In his spare time, he also enjoyed watching WWE Wrestling, spending time with his family and cats.
He is predeceased by the love of his life, Sarah “Sue” Carreras, his brother Larry Corey, and parents.
Bruce is survived by the mother of his children, Cindy Corey, his children Melissa Corey and her boyfriend Dain Sokalczuk, Christina Windhorst (nee: Corey) and her husband Tim Windhorst, Brian Corey and Ashleigh Camacho. He is also survived by his grandchildren Kristin Windhorst, Tyler Windhorst and Courtney Sokalczuk along with many nieces and nephews.
Visitation for family and friends will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024, from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the James J Dougherty Funeral Home, 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056.
Burial with full military honors will take place on Tuesday, August 27, 2024 at 10:00 at Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA. Please be in line at the main office by 9:45 am.
As a tribute to Bruce and his love for Philly sports, all who attend are asked to wear anything Eagles, Flyers or Phillies related.
