

Carl J. "Buddy" Fario, of Levittown died peacefully on Tuesday, January 12, 2010 at Aria Health Bucks County following a brief illness. He was 78. Born and raised in South Philadelphia, Buddy has resided in Levittown for the past 40 years. He was employed with Interstate Vending Company for over 30 years until retiring in 1996. Buddy was a true sports enthusiast who enjoyed playing golf at the Fairless Hills "Country Club" and participating in the "65 and over" softball league. He also enjoyed playing volleyball at Pennsbury High School and working out at the YMCA. He was an Army veteran of Korea. Buddy was the beloved husband of Valerie (Witoshkin) Fario for 47 years. He was the loving father of Carl J. Fario, III and his wife Katy of North Carolina and Dina Kunkle and her husband Kevin of Yardley and was the devoted Pop-Pop of Olivia, Bella, Carly and Trevor. He was the brother of Bobby and his wife Frannie Fario of Brigantine, NJ and Jimmy and his wife Louise Fario of Turnersville, NJ. He is also survived by his brothers-in-law Tony and his wife Pat Witoshkin and Walt and his wife Natalie Witoshkin, many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles whom he loved and his dear golfing friends Barbara and Jack Burns. Buddy, God called you because he needed a center fielder on his team. We are glad you are "safe at home." Family and friends are invited to attend his memorial service on Sunday, January 24, 2010, 2:00 p.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where the family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until the time of the service.
