Catherine (Cathy) Maynard (nee Grossman), age 66, of Philadelphia, PA passed away on Monday, August 28, 2023, after a long battle with illness. She was the loving mother of Charles "Christian" Grossman, who was by her side in her last moments. Her love of life certainly did not come to an end with her death. It is lived on through many of happy memories with her son, her daughter-in-law Jessica, and her greatest love of all, her grandson Oliver.
Cathy was exceptionally happy when surrounded by her loved ones and was deeply missing her parents Charles and Anna Grossman, her spouse Robert "Bob" Shoemaker, her Aunt Sissy, her brother John, and her partner Steven Sudor. It is comforting to know she is re-united with them.
She is also survived by her nephews Shawn, Aaron, Jonathan, and her niece Jennifer. She was also a dog lover and was the best dog mom to Spike, Rocky, and Nyla.
Cathy unselfishly spent many years taking care of her mother, her father, and her aunt after working as a Secretary in the banking industry for her entire career. In her free time, she loved to watch and cheer for the Philly sports teams, especially the Phillies, watch true crime tv shows, and enjoyed listening to Elvis. Her favorite vacation spot was Williamsburg, Virginia. She loved to visit with her family.

Services will be held on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at Queen of the Universe Catholic Church, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA 19056 from 9:30 A.M. to 10:30 A.M. with a Memorial Mass to begin at 10:30 A.M. Interment will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Animal Humane Society, Philadelphia, PA.
