Charles W. Ropars, Sr.Charles W. (Chick) Ropars, Sr. died on Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at Saint Mary Medical Center in Langhorne. He was 76. Born and raised in Philadelphia, Mr. Ropars was a 1956 graduate of Mastbaum High School. He has been a resident of Falls Township since 1963.Mr. Ropars was an electrical inspector for Underwriters Laboratories for many years. He was a huge John Wayne fan and enjoyed working on cars, especially his 1932 Ford truck.He loved all sports, but most especially the Eagles.Chick and Floss had taken many cruises and enjoyed traveling to many different places, including a 50th anniversary celebration to England and France.Beloved husband of 57 years to Florence D. (Shaffer), he was the loving father of Charles W. Jr. (Mary), Michael C. (Catherine), Kimberly A. Coffey (Mike) and Craig S. (Tanya). He was the devoted grandfather of Katlyn, Jessica (Sean Navin), Jamie, Michael, Michael Jr., Emily, Nicholas and Craig Jr. Mr. Ropars was the brother of Pat Tobin (Jim), Nancy Stone (Joe). He will also be sadly missed by his in-laws, Clyde and Elsie Shaffer and many nieces and nephews.Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday from 2:00 until 4:00 pm at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown where his funeral service will be held at 4;00 pm. Interment will be held privately.Memorial contributions in his name may be made to Saint Mary Medical Center, 1201 Langhorne Newtown Road, Langhorne, PA 19047.
