Clare Ann Wolf Clare Ann (Burkhardt) Wolf died unexpectedly in her sleep while on vacation at the beach in Riviera Maya, Mexico on Saturday, June 14, 2014. She was 86. Born and raised on Lehigh Avenue in the Kensington section of Philadelphia she was the daughter of Joseph and Anna (McGovern) Burkhardt. A graduate of John W. Hallahan Catholic Girls High School in Philadelphia, she subsequently worked as a secretary for The United States Navy and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. While on a trip to the Poconos she met the love of her life, Edward Wolf, and the newlyweds became original Levittown homeowners in the Quincy Hollow section in 1956. After raising her four children she returned to work. She was a legal secretary in the Division of Law of the New Jersey Department of Law and Public Safety for over 30 years and still worked full time in Trenton at the time of her death. Her family finds this an amazing feat since she reported that she was 29 years old earlier this year. She was especially proud of the work she did for the legal staff of the department and treasured her relationships with "her" lawyers and her coworkers in the department. She was a member of Queen of the Universe Parish in Levittown. Clare was an avid fan of the movies and Hollywood. She delighted in travel to Europe, the Caribbean and Mexico but her greatest joy was time at the beach with her family. Clare was a woman of amazing and limitless energy totally devoted to her family and friends. Preceded in death by "Wolf", her husband of 57 years, Mrs. Wolf was the loving mother of Edward J. Jr. (Margaret), Steven R., Gary R. (Kelly) and Susan A. Michinok (Michael). She was the devoted grandmother of Brian, Leigh Ann, Thomas, Samantha, Alexis, Lindsay, Jennifer and Luke. She is survived by her brother, James Burkhardt (Dolores). She was preceded in death by her sister Virginia and her brother Joseph. Family and friends are invited to call on Saturday, June 21, 8:30 until 10:30 am at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Road, Levittown. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 am at Queen of the Universe Church, Levittown. Rite of Committal will be held privately at the convenience of the family. Memorial contributions in her name may be made to www.stjude.org.
