I’m so sorry to hear of this tragedy. A friend and I were recently running and she mentioned Dakota’s passing. His father and I were friends in high and although I didn’t know Dakota, I’m so very sorry for his loss. Thinking of the entire family. 

May you be held ever so close by the grace, mercy, peace and love of God during this most difficult time and in all the days ahead.

Hey there Cody,Have you met up with Pop Pop yet?  Ya know we’re all a mess down here without you.  This is really breaking my heart but I know that one day we’re all gonna see each other again. An amazing young man taken too soon.  Rest in the loving arms of Jesus Christ, Cody!  Praying for peace, comfort and understanding for all.  I love you my dear friend, Nikki.  You and your family are always in our thoughts and prayers.

Dakoto, not sure why God wanted you home with him but I know you are making everyone laugh and smile with your contagious bubbly personality. you will be missed on this earth.  I pray for healing for the family in this very difficult time.

Dakota I still can not believe you are gone it seems like just yesterday we were in kindergarten with not a care in the world. I am forever grateful for the memories we made in middle school while painting the mural. You had an infectious smile and laugh and definitely knew how to have a good time. You will be so missed, Fly High 

Dakota was always so polite, respectful and friendly towards me, he would listen to my rants and stories as i would listen to his. he had some good stories about the school we went to, and would have cailey and i laughing about them. i meant to write this a few days ago on here but i couldn’t figure it out until now. my condolences go out to his family, friends and anybody else who got to meet him. i’m so glad i got to know him, he was such a great person. 

Paul...my childhood cousin from other mother...I can't even say I know how you feel or understand your pain...Its a loss only those that experience it will understand. While I never got to meet your son, I am sure he was blessed with your sense of humor and charm! Never look back on the bad times, just remember the good times! Cody, God called you to heaven and left those of us behind with a broken heart.  I am consoled in the fact that you are with PopPop doing what you both loved, fishing.  I’ll never forget when you were 9 years old and you caught 3 fish and PopPop didn’t catch any,  PopPop said he gave you the good fishing pole but we knew you were the better fisherman.   I enjoyed all the trips you took to come see me.  This July your visit was extra special since you came with your wife and you were so happy it showed in your smile.   If I knew it was my last hug I would never have let you go.  I love you more than “AIR” and right now I’m having a hard time breathing.  I’m comforted in knowing that we will all be together again.   (Just Please don’t ask me to bait any fishing hooks)Love you alwaysGrandmom

Words cannot express how deeply sorry I am for Dakota’s family’s loss. Just seeing how greatly my daughter is grieving the loss of her husband is beyond heartbreaking. I wish I had gotten more time to get to know my son-in-law. His life was taken away way too early. But I know he was so good to Cailey, which am am eternally grateful for. He was so generous to everyone. Every time I saw him, he wore a smile that would light up the room. For Paul and Nichole- no one should have to bury their child and I cannot fathom what you are going through right now. Despite your grief, you have reached out to Cailey to comfort her. Your love and support blows me away. Thank you so much for being there for her and including her with everything. As Caileys mother, it pains me to not be able to take away her suffering. She is too young to be a widow. I know she adored Dakota and they had envisioned a future together. His life was cut way too short.You are all in my prayers. I’m so very sorry.
