

Denise L. Holbrook, of Levittown died on Friday, January 29, 2010 at the Cancer Treatment Center of America in Philadelphia. She was 41. Born in Jacksonville, NC, Denise was raised in Bristol and formerly resided in Fairless Hills. She has lived in Levittown for the past 3 years. She was a 1987 graduate of Harry S. Truman High School. She was also a graduate of Bucks County Community College and Penn Technological in Williamsport. Denise was an Export Sales Administrator with Mistras Holdings in Princeton Junction, NJ for several years. She enjoyed country line dancing, bowling and bingo. Denise is the beloved daughter of Julia Tortu and her husband Samuel of Bristol Township and Wayne "Lou" Holbrook of Irving TX. She will be sadly missed by her life partner Linda Varelli with whom she resided and Linda's children Karen and Joseph Varelli of Levittown. She was a loving Nana of Aaydin, Dominick and Gabryl. She will also be sadly missed by her twin brother Michael Holbrook (Denise) of Bensalem; stepbrothers, Steven Tortu and David Tortu both of New Jersey; her maternal grandmother Othnell Brennan (the late Frank) of Levittown; aunts and uncles Patrick Brennan (Debbie) of Burlington, NJ, Jeanie Brennan (Don) of Levittown and Frank Brennan (the late Wanda) of Bensalem; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. She was preceded in death by her brother Larry Holbrook. Family and friends are invited to call on Tuesday from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. and Wednesday from 9:00 to 10:00 a.m. at the James J. Dougherty Funeral Home, Inc., 2200 Trenton Rd., Levittown where her funeral service will be held on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow in Resurrection Cemetery.
