Born in Philadelphia, PA, Dolores (DEE-LITE) was a graduate of West Catholic Girls High School. She was married to John T. Claffey, Sr. for 51 years until his death in 2000. They resided in Drexel Hill for many years and were former parishioners of St. Charles Borromeo Church. In her later years, Dolores resided in Newtown Square and was a member of St. Anastasia Church. Dolores always enjoyed going to casinos and playing cards. She especially enjoyed teaching her grandchildren the finer points of playing poker.
Beloved wife of the late John T. Claffey, Sr. and mother of the late Terence M. Claffey; Dolores is survived by her three children: John T. Claffey, Jr., of Swedesboro, NJ.; Doreene M. Mayer, of Newtown Square; and Kevin B. Claffey, M.D. and his wife Kimberly R. Dolores was the beloved “DEEDLE” to 6 grandchildren. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Due to the current Pandemic situation, a private interment will take place in Sts. Peter and Paul Cemetery in Springfield. Memorial contributions are appreciated The Tommy Campbell Foundation
