

Doris T. Marlin(Tuckmantel) of Levittown passed away Thursday, November 26, 2015, at her original home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 93. Born and raised in Philadelphia, she was born the youngest child of five, to Frederick and Sophie Tuckmantel of Germantown, PA. Her other siblings included sisters, Eleanor and Thelma, and brothers, Warren and Fred Jr. Doris was a graduate of Simon Gratz High School. In 1941, she met Charles Marlin, through their roller skating group, married him in 1946, upon his return from the war, until his death in 1981. Doris and Charles lived at several residences before becoming one of the original owners of a Levittown home in 1955. Doris was a homemaker, who helped raise their four children, and maintained a nice home for her husband and children. She returned to the work force full time in 1975 and worked for the Statistics Dept of the State of New Jersey, before retiring and moving to the NJ beach town of Strathmere in 1995, having great times there with her family and friends. She returned to Bucks County in 2004, and moved to the senior apartment complex of Heathergate in Langhorne, where she made many friends and lived there until this year. Her final residence was Woodbourne Place in Levittown, where she lived for a few months this fall. Doris was an original founding member of the Queen of the Universe Church in Levittown, active in the Regina Guild, volunteered for special needs kids there, and volunteered for St Mary's Hospital in Langhorne, until 1990. In her spare time, Doris enjoyed sewing, crafts, playing cards, traveling to Las Vegas, Hawaii and Bermuda, watching old movies, listening to big band music and rooting on the Philadelphia Phillies and Eagles. She was also a huge fan of Engelbert Humperdinck and attended many of his shows. She was the most happy when she was spending time with her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.Doris is survived by her sons and daughter, Robert Marlin (Nancy, deceased), Linda Marlin, Charles Marlin (Patricia), and Timothy Marlin. She was the devoted grandmother of Kelly (Eric) Haines, and Courtney( Andrew) Mindzak. She was the devoted great grandmother of Spencer and Benjamin Haines and Abigail Mindzak. She was the devoted step-grandmother of Kelly MacDonald, Jill (Rich) DiGrosso and Michael Dempsey, and great step-grandmother of Jimmy MacDonald and Ryan and Ava DiGrosso. She will be missed by her extensive family and friends, especially Mary Ann Boyle, Barbara (Heathergate), Lorraine Stidham, Vera Clark, William Woodhouse and Christine Tomlinson. The family would also like to thank Mallory and Chrissy and the many aides of Woodbourne Place for their attentive nature to Doris' needs, during her brief stay there.Relatives and friends are invited to visit on Tuesday, December 1 from 9:30 until 10:30 am, at Queen of the Universe Church, 2443 Trenton Road, Levittown, PA, where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 am. Rite of Committal will follow at Resurrection Cemetery in Bensalem, PA.In lieu of flowers, donations in Doris' honor can be made to the American Cancer Society, 480 Norristown Road, Suite 150, Blue Bell, PA 19422. and the American Lung Association, 527 Plymouth Road, Suite 403, Plymouth Meeting, PA 19462-1641.
